Ikasavea is a smartphone and tablet application that allows fisheries surveyors to collect market, landing and socio-economic survey data offline and synchronize data at later time with the Coastal Fisheries web portal for further analysis and report extraction.
The application allows for direct collection of fish and invertebrate measurements, or through the use of photos of specimens on a measuring board and scale or on a calibrated mat. The photos are analyzed automatically on the server to read the weight (from scale), determine the fork length and suggest a species ID. Measurements can also be performed from calibrated mat and measuring board photos.
Ikasavea is available for android devices, and can be downloaded here
Note the application if for authorized users, registered on the web portal and associated with an authority.
